Here are the revised details of planned works this month on the M4-M5 Managed Motorways scheme from the Highways Agency:
Tuesday 17th (21:00hrs – 06:00hrs)
Closure: M5 Northbound junction 16 – 15 connector (exit and entry)
Diversion routes:
1. Traffic wishing to join the M5 Northbound at junction 16 will be diverted East on the M4 to junction 22, u-turn, return to the Almondsbury Interchange and join the M5 North.
2. Traffic travelling North on the M5 wishing to join the M4 East or West will be diverted North on the M5 to junction 14, u-turn, return to the Almondsbury Interchange and join the M4 in the appropriate direction.
Wednesday 18th (21:00hrs-06:00hrs)
Closure: M4 East to M5 North link road and M4 East to M5 South link road
Diversion routes:
Traffic travelling East on the M4 wishing to join the M5 South or North will be diverted East to junction 19, exit onto the M32 South, exit and u-turn at junction 1. Traffic then returns to junction 19, takes the M4 Westbound carriageway back to junction 20 and joins the M5 in the appropriate direction.
Thursday 19th (22:00hrs-06:00hrs)
M4 Eastbound and Westbound 19-20
Diversion routes:
1. Traffic travelling East on the M4 will be diverted at junction 20 onto the M5 Southbound carriageway, exits at junction 16 and joins the A38 South. Traffic then follows the A38 South, joins the A4174 East at Filton roundabout and then follows the A4174 West to junction 1 of the M32. Traffic then joins the M32 North and re-joins the M4 Eastbound carriageway at junction 19.
2. Traffic travelling West on the M4 will be diverted at junction 19 onto the M32 Southbound carriageway, exits the M32 at junction 1 and joins the A4174 East. Traffic then follows the A4174 East to join the A38 North at Filton roundabout, follows the A38 to junction 16 of the M5, joins the M5 North and follows signs to rejoin the M4 Westbound carriageway.
M5 South to M4 West link road (21:00hrs – 06:00hrs)
Diversion route: Traffic travelling South on the M5 wishing to join the M4 West will be diverted South to junction 16, u-turn and follow signs to join the M4 Westbound carriageway.
Monday 23rd (21:00hrs-06:00hrs)
Closure: M5 Northbound junction 16 – 15 connector (exit and entry)
Diversion routes:
1. Traffic wishing to join the M5 Northbound at junction 16 will be diverted East on the M4 to junction 22, u-turn, return to the Almondsbury Interchange and join the M5 North.

Traffic then follows the A38 South, joins the A4174 East at Filton roundabout and then follows the A4174 West to junction 1 of the M32. Traffic then joins the M32 North and re-joins the M4 Eastbound carriageway at junction 19.

Friday 27th and Monday 30th (21:00hrs-06:00hrs)
Closure: M5 Northbound junction 16 – 15 connector (exit and entry)

1. Traffic wishing to join the M5 Northbound at junction 16 will be diverted East on the M4 to junction 22, u-turn, return to the Almondsbury Interchange and join the M5 North.
