Halle Berry has claimed Drake used an image of her drenched in slime to promote his new single without consent.
Earlier this week, the rapper announced his latest single, a collaboration with SZA titled “Slime You Out”. The track will feature on Drake’s forthcoming album For All the Dogs, which is released later this month.
Drake took to Instagram to tease the track, sharing an image of Berry covered in luminous green slime - taken way back in 2012 when Berry got slimed at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
Teasing the track on Instagram on 15 September Drake, 36, shared an image of Halle Berry covered in green gunk after getting slimed at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards in 2012.
Two day later, Berry seemed to allude to Drake as she shared an image to Instagram reading: “Sometimes you have to be the bigger guy… even if you’re a woman!”
In the comment section, one follower asked Berry: “What are your thoughts of Drake using that picture of you for his single?”
Halle commented on her own page, "Hence my post today. When people you admire disappoint you you have to be the bigger person and move on !"
The actress also commented, in response to another fan, "He did have his people call my people call my people and I said NO. I didn't like that image of slime all over my face in association with his song. And he chose to do it anyway ! You see...that is the disrespect. Not cool !"
In a different remark left on Berry’s Instagram post, another user said they’d be upset about “the meaning of the pic. ‘Slime you’ what does that mean exactly? Hmm.”
Berry replied, “exactly! What does that mean?”
Berry later explained why she was upset in another comment, after someone suggested the picture is owned by Getty and Drake could have paid the photo service to use it on social media.
“Cuz he asked me and i said NO that’s why. Why ask if you intend to do what you want to do ! That was the f— you to me. Not cool,” wrote Berry in reply. “You get it?”
The “Slime” image in question continues to remains posted on Drake’s Instagram page and is also shared on SZA’s account.
GLAMOUR has contacted a spokesperson for Drake and is awaiting response.
